St. Paul's Scrip Program

Imagine a typical day …you fill the SUV up with gas for about $60.00 (yeah - it's a crime), drop off children at school and head to work, eat lunch at Burger King, swing by Kohl’s to get those white socks that your son has to have for school, pick up a gift certificate at AMC so your daughter can go to a birthday party this weekend, stop off at Dierbergs for something to make for dinner. Sounds hectic but pretty normal to most of us but you did all of this and donated $8.20 to St. Paul! It doesn't sound like much, does it? But what if EVERY parishoner did the same thing? We have a way to earn as much as $80,000 and the best part is that this won’t cost you more than you already spend on everyday expenses. That's right - we can make $80,000 a year (and maybe more) without spending any more than we already do.

SCRIP is a term that means substitute money. When you buy SCRIP you are purchasing negotiable gift certificates that are used just like cash.  The most appealing aspect of SCRIP is that this is money you would normally spend on groceries, clothing, gasoline, restaurants, home improvements, etc.  This means that if you choose to purchase SCRIP, you are spending no additional money than what you would normally spend on these household expenses

With the SCRIP program, every time you buy gift certificates the store gives back a percentage of your purchase to St. Paul’s parish.  For example - you purchase $100 of Kohl’s certificates and St. Paul is credited 5% - $5.00. By the way, Kohl’s SCRIP can be used at the check out, given as gift certificates, or used to pay towards your Kohl’s account. The percentage earned varies with each vendor (between 1½% to 25%).

We have SCRIP for just about every vendor, restaurant or gas station in Fenton. We have SCRIP for malls, Home Improvement stores, and Walgreen’s. We have SCRIP for theatres, hotels and airlines and the list gets bigger and bigger all of the time. Most popular SCRIP certificates are kept on hand but infrequent vendors will need about 3-4 days to order.

Purchasing SCRIP is very easy. It is sold after school, at PSR, and after all masses. Drop off your order before Mass on Sunday and pick up your filled order when Mass is over. It's that simple . SCRIP can also be sent home in Friday Folders with your children.

Our earnings from the SCRIP Program are endless and are totally dependent on the volume and frequency SCRIP is purchased.  Routine weekly purchasing is the key to a successful program.  Pennies made each week add up to hundreds of dollars. SCRIP is an excellent way to provide additional financial assistance to the ever-increasing needs of our growing parish and school. Let’s watch our pennies grow!!!!
